Latchwork Quests hosts briefing a team before a Sydney quest room

A live quest venue in the city, not a downloadable puzzle pack

Open since April 2019

Why Latchwork Quests began

Latchwork Quests began as a small briefing desk after friends kept asking for honest team puzzles without a chain-formula script. In April 2019 we settled at Suite 1, Level 10, 428 George St, split the week into room resets, host briefings, and private bookings, and kept the same habit: show which rooms are open, label player counts clearly, and say when a session is offline. We still run live quest rooms, timed challenges, and clear arrival notes from one venue. We do not swap a room on the day unless we tell you first, and we do not take a deposit for a slot we have not staffed.

  • Timed quest rooms with player counts written on each booking ticket
  • Team briefings, family sessions, night shifts, and gift passes on labelled diaries
  • Arrival notes and price cards written in Australian dollars without franchise claims

Visit Suite 1, Level 10, 428 George St, Sydney NSW 2000, or send a weekday question. We do not move a group into another room without updating the ticket. If a session is reset late, we say the board is older instead of pretending every room is free.

Locked Circuit

Locked Circuit is the first quest most guests choose. Teams step into a mystery scene, share clues, and race a timed exit when the lobby clock starts. Each ticket shows player count and whether the difficulty is standard or sharper. Smaller groups sit on earlier weekday slots so you can compare pace without joining a large crowd. Latchwork Quests treats this room as a live puzzle experience run on site; theme names describe the story inside, not a sponsored partnership. If a featured prop is offline that day, we say so before briefing rather than promising a clue path we cannot open that afternoon.

Team Briefings

Team Briefings are the second diary: office groups, staggered starts, shared agendas, and post-session debriefs planned against a written brief. We keep mid-week windows and quieter lobby hours when the calendar allows, plus a short add-on note for larger headcounts. Player capacity is listed on the sheet so you can see how teams will split across rooms. Live quests are labelled separately from optional debrief time. Latchwork Quests does not treat a quote as a full venue hire. If you need matching starts for several squads, write a weekday so we can count hosts before the weekend. We will not fold a family session into this card without labelling it as a different diary.

Private Bookings

Private Bookings cover closed-door sessions we hold for birthdays, small celebrations, and groups who want the lobby quieter on scheduled weekday runs. Rooms stay reserved for your party unless a ticket says shared start. We time these windows carefully because resets need a clear gap. Latchwork Quests does not run an off-site travelling show. Slots follow the diary when headcounts match; peak and off-peak windows sit on separate lists for people who want a calmer arrival. Write with date, preferred hour, and whether you want a gift pass so the venue can check hosts before you travel in. Private packing for larger teams uses a longer briefing than a standard pair.

Family Sessions

Family Sessions sit in gentler themes, with clearer clues, softer pacing, and hosts ready on a quiet briefing desk. We keep a calm corner in the lobby so parents can review age notes before you lock in. Standard player counts are the default; larger family groups are listed on a separate ticket. Latchwork Quests will not squeeze six unrelated room styles onto this card. Ask on a weekday if you need a quieter conversation rather than a Saturday rush. These sessions are quest experiences, not childcare services. We brief them carefully so younger players are not pushed into sharper rooms.

Night Shift Quests

Night Shift Quests sit later on the diary for people who want a quieter lobby after peak hours. We list start times on the ticket and whether a host debrief is included. Themes rotate; we do not hold a slot we have not staffed. Latchwork Quests briefs this as an evening puzzle session, not an overnight stay. Midweek evening starts are usually calmer. Timing questions go by mail, not during a Saturday queue. We reset Tuesday mornings while the venue sorts the weekly board.

Gift Passes

Gift Passes are the simple extra: paper vouchers for birthdays, thank-yous, and quiet celebrations. Values sit on the ticket so you can check the amount before you buy. Latchwork Quests publishes remaining pass stock on the journal page after the print batch is opened, not before it arrives. Pass values describe spend at the venue. Pre-holds close when that week’s voucher tray is empty. Gift Passes is a limited tray, not a sixth permanent room, and we will say when a print run will not return the following month.
